The templates from WPBakery Visual Composer are embedded in the plugin and can not be exported. To solve this issue, the Templatera extension can be installed which defines the templates as a WordPress post-type instead. These can be exported using the default WordPress Export function, allowing transfers of individual templates between (local) development versions.
Apart from making exporting possible, separating templates into a post_type has another upside. Using the Templatera
block in the page builder, a template can be selected and applied to all pages where the block is placed and configured. This means that the template can now be edited from the WPBakery Page Builder > Templates tab, of which the changes are applied to every single instance of this element on the site.
