DPDK Architecture  ->  Wordpress (stable)

General

In WordPress, everything that is displayed on the front-end has been manipulated or rendered by the active theme. These ‘themes’ are pre-made structures in which we can use our components to build up all aspects of the site, from navigation to page content. It could easily be seen as the one toolbox that allows us to turn a design into a working website.

Whereas projects in the Drupal CMS are either built from scratch to accommodate for a self-made design, or via the component library for more efficient development, WordPress themes allow us to turn around a project in less development time. Due to the specific theme containing multiple kinds of templates and demo’s, these can be used as a starting point for the site’s design.

Every theme works vastly different on both a technical level and on a design level, enabling a highly customizable work set. However, the initial WordPress-projects all share the same Salient theme.
